Such a pretty dove...

  1. As far as I can tell this is a plain old Rock Dove, aka Feral Pigeon, a delightful addition to our cityscapes. They have been selectively bred in so many ways it defies the imagination, and were favoured objects of study by no less a luminary than Charles Darwin.

      Yes - around here these are referred to just as 'dove' as compared to the leviathans that are the British Wood Piggyon,, errr. Pigeon. Yxx

  3. Doves are so sweet and also not to smart. They will let us walk right up to them, no fear at all. Ours are gone now, hawk control has decimated them.
