Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

It was a family affair. Way back last spring, the local crow population grew. This mother (the darker, larger of the two) was doing its best to release the offspring, but it was crying up a storm, demanding food. Whenever mum caught a bug or worm, youngster was there trying to grab it, not getting the message it was supposed to be foraging for it's own.

Taken from my first floor kitchen window, hence the foreground 'noise'.

Thursday again. Woo and hoo.

You know what is amazing about this shot? Despite this being Thursday, when I am allowed to play and tinker all I like with them, this particular image is as it came out of the Fudge; the lighting of the day was this stunning!!! Halifax Nova Scotia, the day before I departed.

Back to the Clyde waters as seen from my window... These behemoths are tall enough to block the television signal! This is the "Caribbean Princess", which got in some trouble recently for dumping oily waste in the English Channel. I suspect many such ships do this way more times than they ever caught... sigh... (Confession time; I love industrial shipping - these things just make by blood run cold).

Monday's Critters

As of yesterday, MY TAKE completed four years of daily blogging. Now to begin the fifth.

It's a bit nostalgic... therefore, a nostalgic pic to go with it. My darling Angel Jade; red dog extraordinaire; Rhodesian Ridgeback crossed with some English Staffy and a degree of GSD. As loyal and attentive a dog as one could wish for.

Eight and half years since her passing, at age 14 and a quarter.

Still missed.
