TAKE FORTY SEVEN

EASTER SUNDAY

16 Then the 11 disciples went to Galilee. They went to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him. But some still had their doubts.
18 Then Jesus came to them. He said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 So you must go and make disciples of all nations. Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And you can be sure that I am always with you, to the very end." " (Matt 28, verses as noted)

Taken in St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh, on the Uniden.

TAKE FORTY SIX

EASTER SATURDAY -

"Not very far away, many women were watching. They had followed Jesus from Galilee to take care of his needs. 56 Mary Magdalene was among them. Mary, the mother of James and Joses, was also there. So was the mother of Zebedee's sons.

57 As evening approached, a rich man came from the town of Arimathea. His name was Joseph. He had become a follower of Jesus.
58 He went to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body. Pilate ordered that it be given to him.
59 Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth. 60 He placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb. Then he went away. (Matt 27 verses as marked)

Taken in St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh,on the Uniden.

TAKE FORTY FOUR

Last Thursday.  In the last Thursday of each month, a little something different...

Please do not adjust your sets.  Normal service will resume in a short while.  &}>
This Sydney Botanic Gardens shot was all rather grey.  Then the 40 shades of green caught hold of the right brain and wouldn't let go!! This was a Minolta digicam shot.

27 March 2013

TAKE FORTY THREE

"See how the stars, the moon, the sun move in silence.  We need silence to touch souls." (Mother Teresa)

A pre-dawn shot, the atmosphere lending...well...atmosphere!  Taken with the 'Nik' on 26x optical and 2x digital zoom, auto shutter mode.

TAKE FORTY TWO

The Tuesday Tease

"...wigwams?  In India?  They could market that concept..."

This is your chance to  have some fun.  Fifty words or less to tell what this piccie says to you.  Go on - plenty room in the comments tent.

On a Kolwan runner here... this was taken from the shake-rattle'n'roller of a bus moving along at 50Ks over a road that looked like these fields.  So the Uniden excelled in this instance!

25 March 2013

TAKE FORTY ONE

Monday's Critters

....there are stories to be told about Dudhrani here...

Talk about celebrity antics.  You'll be seeing more of the Milk Queen!  Taken with the Uniden

TAKE FORTY

SUNday - "Look at the birds in the air; they neither plant nor harvest....yet the Lord feeds them. Can you save even one hour by your worry?"  (Matt. 6:26-27)

Kolwan served up many a delicious sunset and sunrise. This is 06:30ish on a very cool morning.  Cloud bird courtesy of His Lordship! The Uniden again - it was this visit last November that sealed the deal on my updating equipment.

TAKE THIRTY NINE

...there's actually more than 39 steps here... (great story, John Buchan author).  The Sri Ganesha Pranav Mandir at Chinmaya Vibhooti, Kolwan, taken with the Uniden.

TAKE THIRTY EIGHT

The Lord sees no weeds.

His garden is open to all.  A dandy lion indeed! Taken with the Uniden on macro.
(See a tale about this one over at MT-TOO!)

21 March 2013

TAKE THIRTY SEVEN

The light of devotion.

Taken with the 'Nik' on macro mode auto everything else.  Flickering flames - they need no words, really.

20 March 2013

TAKE THIRTY SIX

I see the sea or is it the sky up high....?

A visual conundrum that nearly made it into The Tuesday Tease; but this one just has to stay visual.  It's actually a setting sun underlining some clouds - but it could easily have been a view of a sultry sea shore taken from a cliff top.  From this angle, the kite could double as a seagull!  Go on - try adjusting your vision!!  Taken with the 'Nik' on auto and WPLG B&W with red filter used - it was this which turned the clouds to water.

19 March 2013

TAKE THIRTY FIVE

The Tuesday Tease - go on... you know you want to!

An aged Edinburgh cobbled street and stair... leading where?  This is your opportunity to tell me.  Leave your contribution in the comments box - but not more than 50 words remember! "Tuesday looked back.  Monday was up there somewhere, along with the Sunday and Saturday before that.  Where had they gone?!"  Taken with the Uniden.

18 March 2013

TAKE THIRTY FOUR

Monday's Critters

You'll be getting the idea by now that YAM is a little keen on aaaallllllllll of God's creatures, even the fluttery, creepy, slithery ones! And you'd be right.  Taken with the Uniden on macro mode.  One critter inspired a tale at MT-TOO and checkout the Menosukhi spot!

17 March 2013

TAKE THIRTY THREE

SUNday - Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!!

Sunrise at Kolwan taken with the Uniden on B&W option... the little leprechaun in me was tempted to WLPG this into 40 shades of green, but that might have made you a bit green around the gills.... 8-0

TAKE THIRTY TWO

Saraswati Nilya in the morning rays.  Taken on the 'Nik' on standard focus with 200ISO selection.

TAKE THIRTY ONE

"...Look thee unto the fields.  Consider the flowers thereof.  They toil not neither do they spin, yet I say unto you, Solomon in all his glory is not arrayed as one of these!"  (Matt; 6:28-29)

The Minolta digicam was a great wee gadget.  The zoom was powerful.  No this is not a macro!  "Read all about it!" at MT-TOO today.

14 March 2013

TAKE THIRTY

"yyaaawwwwrrrrlllll....shmushashuma.  Are we done yet?"

"...but really, it's fun having you along, do come again!"

He he he.  A little fun from the archives.  Taken with the Minolta digicam, this bronze beauty resides outside the Sydney Botanic Gardens.

TAKE TWENTY NINE

"One sees This as a wonder, another speaks of This as a wonder; another hears of This as a wonder and yet, having heard, none understands This at all." (Bhagavad Gita 2:29)

Detail from entry to Sri Jagadishwara Mandir, Sandeepany Sadhanalaya, CM/TCT.  Taken with the 'Nik' on sepia mode at 100ISO and 10x opt.zoom.

12 March 2013

TAKE TWENTY EIGHT

The Tuesday Tease - don't be afraid, it's easier than you think!

One person at least last week was honest and hit the panic button ("lostMe")! That's okay, this another week another offering for your creative insight.  In 50 words or less, what does this peekaboo cart say to you? "Wheel 1 to Wheel 2 - 'do you think we should carry out an intervention?' Wheel 2 to Wheel 1 - 'what, you mean straighten him out?'  Front Wheel - 'just because you're stuck in a rut.  You'll never understand being the first to travel a path!'" Taken with the Uniden.

11 March 2013

TAKE TWENTY SEVEN

Monday's Critters

The ashram is like any other part of India - open to dogs.  However, there are two 'residents' and the rest just have to take their chances.  This is Kaneya the Conquerer taking a "sunna". (Yes, for the curious, their tails..errr..tales will be told, but not here.  I'll keep you posted!)  Meanwhile don't forget to checkout the Menosukhi moment and if you like a bit of creative writing there's always MT-Too (this week inspired by TAKE 24).  This piccie was taken with the 'Nik' on standard auto at 15x optical zoom.

10 March 2013

TAKE TWENTY SIX

SUNday - महा शिवरात्रि  - Maha Shivratri

Another from the Mandir Mound! Playing hard to get, Sol lends stark beauty to the branches.  An opalescent canvas for the Lord to watch His shadows play.  Taken with the Uniden as we headed up for last year's Shivratri vigil.  May Lord Jagadishwara inspire and empower you!

09 March 2013

TAKE TWENTY FIVE

Saturday Symmetry

My father was an electrical engineer so I grew up around these structures and all their varieties.  I find an eerie elegance to them.  Of course, engineering is all about symmetry.  This was taken with the 'Nik' on B&W mode at 26x opt + 2x digital zoom. It was early morning and the sun was just hitting the steel.  A lesson was learned however... I trimmed this thinking the file size was too large for upload, but regret the loss of the second tower.

TAKE TWENTY FOUR

 ...and the flower of Love...

These little gems are in pots at our residence door.  The buds are less than an inch long and break out into a full flower not more than the size of a 50c piece (old र 2 or ...no, you'll just have to sort it out yourselves).  Taken with the 'Nik' on macro and 5x opt.zoom.

Do take a look at today's inspirational writing at MT-TOO!

07 March 2013

TAKE TWENTY THREE

The colour of Love.

Thursday in Sanskrit is GuruvaasaraH - ruled by Jupiter.  Here at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya we honour our Gurudev every Thursday with paduka puja - but this was extra special  as it was the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the ashram.  That's our current Head of Mission, Guruji Tejomayananda, waving the lamp plus as many swamis and brahmacharins as you could poke an agarbhatti stick at!  Taken with the 'Nik' on auto.

06 March 2013

TAKE TWENTY TWO

"Any idiot can face a crisis.  It's day to day living that wears you out." (Anton Chekov)

Perhaps he's right - but there is joy to be had in the day to day if you let your heart play.
That's My Take!  Another picture from the Sahyadri Hills on the Uniden.

...and it's over to you folks!  Had two excellent offerings last week.  Keep it up.
Taken in Cramond, North Edinburgh, on the Uniden.

TAKE TWENTY

Monday's Critters.

One of Australia's wonderful bugs.  At the back of the skull plate and on part of the frontal carapace you can make out something of the iridescence that initially caught my eye.  Then I saw its hairy 'underwear'!  My, but there's a wonderful draughtsman somewhere... Taken with the Uniden on macro.

Don't forget to visit my new friend BOZO and check out the new awwwwsome page. ..

TAKE NINETEEN

SUNday

The Mumbai air does it again.  This is the naked truth.  Absolutely no cover-up.  Sunset from the Mandir Hill taken on the Uniden.  Don't you think Sol looks just like a pearl, suspended in pink chiffon?

02 March 2013

TAKE EIGHTEEN

Saturday Symmetry

Have been trawling for some of the better piccies in my 'archives' - the Sydney Opera House 'sails' are mosaic tiles that are self-cleaning.  I think they look like a lizard's skin. Taken with the Minolta digicam.

TAKE SEVENTEEN

"By plucking her petals, you do not gather the beauty of the flower."  (Rabindranath Tagore)

Does anyone know what this one is called?! Am usually on the ball with plants but this here's a mystery.  Found it growing at Kolwan.  Taken with the Uniden on macro mode.
