TAKE ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHT

108 is considered as a highly auspicious number in the Hindu faith.  Red is also and these flame trees of summer at Sandeepany certainly bring a feeling of joy and ease.

Of the acacia family, they cast their sheltering shadow wide and the flowers drop at the feet of the student sadhus and swamis alike, drifting down like confetti from God.
Blessings to you all on the last day of May.  Taken with the Uniden.

TAKE ONE HUNDRED AND SEVEN

Last Thursday - the day when things can go haywire, or are just plain peculiar!

At Sydney Botanical Gardens, they even grow palm trees in their chimney pots!  Taken with the Minolta handycam.

TAKE ONE HUNDRED AND SIX

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in respect to photographing birds.

There was a lot happening around this particular scene... but for now just enjoy the peek-a-boo of this young black kite at the top of the palm.  Taken with the Uniden.

TAKE ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE

The Tuesday Tease

You know it - fifty or less words tells me what's in that cellar!  "One look at the broken slabs and the solid bars and Winky just knew there was a Demon-Lishun Ball last night.  She just prayed whoever had the key was on the outside." Taken with the Uniden in Auld Reekie (Edinburgh!).

27 May 2013

MOONday - on the last Sunday of the month, Sol gets a rest!
"Aim for the moon.  If you miss you may hit a star." (W. Clement Stone)

...I was aiming for the moon and hit the trees!  Taken with the 'Nik' on auto and 16x optical zoom.  I liked the liquid silver effect that resulted and the purplish halo effect.

"The best place to find God is in a garden.  You can dig for him there." (G B Shaw)

After the rain in my Sydney garden.  Taken with the Uniden on macro.  These were massive climbing pelargonium. A personal favourite. Why not read the story this photo inspired?

Taken with the 'Nik' on manual 80ISO and 3x optical zoom at Horniman Gardens Mumbai.

20 May 2013

TAKE NINETY SEVEN

Time for a squirrel-fix!  Am glad I took a batch of these over two or three different visits - for now the fence has been denuded of all the greenery, therefore wildlife too.  Taken with the 'Nik' on auto and 5x optical zoom.

TAKE NINETY

Monday's Critters

M15+ rating!!

Lucky I carry the Uniden everywhere ('Nik' is not so convenient it must be said).

Anyway, the mangos are drawing the young local hooligans. This one was throwing a typical teenage male tantrum.

TAKE SEVENTY NINE

At this time of year, the air can get 'greasy' and the blue haze of the eucalypts draws in. Taken on the Minolta handycam.

01 May 2013

TAKE SEVENTY EIGHT

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in respect to photographing birds.

Wings... is not going to be ALL about the black kites and YAM's comic adventures in trying to get the ultimate portrait.  Other birds will feature.  Occasionally.  Like Papa and Punya who regularly pop in to say hello.  The Uniden was more intent on focusing on the fence though!  HAPPY MAY DAY.
