TAKE TWO HUNDRED AND ONE h

It's the last Thursday, so why not bring you something a little left-field as is the norm for this blog? I cannot for the life of me recall the name of this tree, located in Edgeworth David community gardens, Hornsby NSW...but it was certainly eye-catching. (Trust me, I've done a thorough web search... if anyone else can come up with it, kudos to you!)

Crikey, look at that... we clicked over into the next quarter of the year. Not that the Casuarina cares.

Natural sandstone outcrop utilised in a community garden as a boundary. The council decided to caulk it with cement to prevent erosion by collecting water in the natural fissures. One wonders that they couldn't have coloured the filler a bit...

Flannel Flowers are one of Australia's truly unique and beautiful wildflowers - they are not prolific and to find some is a little bit like a four-leaf-clover find. Unless you know where to look.

That's quite the texture going on there! This was taken so long ago (it's a scanned print) I don't recall the variety of cactus. Sydney Botanic Gardens has quite the range.

Nature's Textures Series...
There have been a few new photographs added to the files of late, but not really enough to be confident starting a new month with them. Therefore, August is going to be a display of images - from the interminable archives - showing off some variety in the natural world as spotted by the YAMster's lens. With a few exceptions, this run will be from Australia.

As it is SUNday, might as well start with interesting eucalypt leaves shining out.
