Spooky Last Thursday. For now.

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

Okay, so this is a cheat.

I have never managed to view puffins in their live habitat (despite long, cold, windy efforts.) Thus, have resorted to museum specimens.

Monday's Critters

Thru the windscreen - random sheep wandering the highways of the north-west.

To respond to queries from the previous critters post: the majority of flocks you see wandering like this are owned by crofters. (Crofting is a form of small-holding farming particular to Scotland - I leave you to your own researches on that.) When 'common grazing' is used, there are no fences, usually. Where more than one owner is using the land, the stock is marked either with coloured dye or with ear-tags. The stock is free to roam as it desires. What you see here is an actual road - and this is why I always refer to driving 'sheep tracks' when oot and aboot in the Bonny Land!!!

Confession - this is a reboot from the OZ trip... lost a whole lot of luna shots with those USBs...sigh...

Inverness Castle, again. The windows were catching my attention here - though my angle on them is angular, their symmetry still stands loud!

Thursdays loom large.

They like their sculptures and monuments up there in Inverness.

This is a depiction of Flora MacDonald.

YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

As promised last week, a full view of the statue with the falcon.

It is a representation of King James the Fourth of Scotland, who is reputed to have been a mad keen falconer.

In the absence of seeing any actual falcons, this will have to do!

In the Highlands, it is not uncommon, indeed most regular, to find the sheep on the roadside of the fencing.

This is another sculpture found in Inverness. They like their birds up there.

This statue will appear here again in a different frame next week - with info.

For now, know that it is a falcon depiction.

Another 'take' on the tall ship "Stavros". The sea haze and full zoom caused some graininess that is not displeasing for such a scene.

Monday's Critters

Something terrible happened. My USB sticks with all my prepared images have gone astray. Many of the shots left from the OZ trip... I shall have to do a lot more prep work to retrace.

Meanwhile, back in the now... this cheeky chappy was happily storing excess in my neighbour's garden the other day!

In the last analysis, the individual person is responsible for living his own life and for 'finding himself.' If he persists in shifting his responsibility to somebody else, he fails to find out the meaning of his own existence.

Another from the archives - afraid I can't make out the name now and too far back to recall. The usual Clyde 'murk' doesn't help!
