TAKE TWO HUNDRED AND FIVE j

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious of photographing birds.

This young gull (fourth-year plumage) was all alone and struggling to collect some fish by the shore. As it turned to walk in, I thought I was seeing a species not customarily spotted around here... but then, sadly, recognised that this individual is showing all the signs of being seriously unwell. UK shore and seabirds are being ravaged by Avian Flu at the moment, so quite possibly, this is what has struck...

  3. It always causes me great sadness to see sick or injured creatures, knowing well that their condition is nearly always the end for them.
