YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

Australian raven (Corvus Coronoides), having the most distinct 'white' eye. 

There is a certain 'chorus' that is distinctly Aussie in the bird kingdom. Of course, there is the Kookaburra. Then the Magpie and Currawong. The raven has to be included, its voice often heard throughout the day. There can be a range of vocalisations, though not to the extent of the Curra or Maggie. However, the most common sound emitted is this plaintive, haunting caw...

  2. So glad you included the video...sometime when you are bored, go to youtube and look up Fable the Raven. I never post any of the videos cause they are long, and can be boring, yet there are always parts that are worth the watch.

  4. he looks like our big black birds but their sound is harsher than this one's sound.. and sometimes there are hundreds sometimes thousands in the air and what a racket they can make
