TAKE TWO HUNDRED AND FOURTEEN f

Monday's Critters

Australia is, as you can imagine, alive with Lepidoptera. Some I am quite good at naming. Others, not so much. I believe this to be Argynnia Cyrila (Cyril's Brown). Caught in Emm's garden - she lives in the hills north of Sydney.

SUNdays

Taken through Emm's back window at Mt Colah (Sydney). Wasn't quick enough to get away from the trees to catch the incredible cloud formations that flamed for the briefest moment.

Saturday Symmetry

I am not entirely certain why I never made a label for 'doors' until today. I take plenty photos of them.

After all, they can pretty much be relied upon for symmetry - anything less than that is a fault of the photographer! (I am vertically challenged remember - and on this occasion was apparently leaning a bit to the side as well!!!)

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

As mentioned before, the recent trip down under presented some challenges in getting 'wings' shots - not least because there was hardly any specific outing for the purpose. However, a small nature trail along a beach afforded observation of many of these. So fast, it was a miracle I got this much of an image. Little Wattlebirds. There were dozens. I managed this one paltry shot!

Shipping by...

This ship was anchored in the Firth of Forth, just off from Aberlady (East Lothian). Couldn't quite make out the name, but probably waiting to go up to Grangemouth to load oil or petroleum. There was quite some haze it swung around a full 180 degrees as we watched from the warmth of our car!
