TAKE TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR g

Wings on Wednesday -

YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

There was quite some song and dance going on here. A Lesser-black-backed Gull, a Herring Gull and a juvenile of the latter. The LBG seemed to want to feed the young bird, but the true parent was putting up a fight and quite the noise about that. The youngster was just hungry and confused!

(Although rare, there are records of these two species mating, so the possibility is this is actually a family unit!)

  4. And juvenile birds are so helpless! They figure it out when the older generation walks off.

The juvenile gulls always seem to be eating. Great capture of the 2 gull species.
