F read an article a year or three back about some scientists making (weaving) a fabric out of golden orb spder web strands.. she can't remember what its special properties were (strong and lightweight probably go without saying), just that it read like something out of Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter to even try it.

      ...Might have been this one? However, these are a different spider, despite having the same name. Turns out there are Golden Orb spiders all over 'this orb'!!! Yxx
