TAKE ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY ONE f

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

Last week I introduced you to this pair of osprey, setting up home for this year's clutch.

In this first image, though a little distant, you can just about make out a twig being rearranged by the bird with open wings.
One fluttered out to give room for the decorator - you can see that twig more clearly now.

It is likely that the observer is the male.

  2. they are so much fun to watch. I stood and watched a scene just like this a few years ago. the daddy flew in with a fish as big as he was, laid it in the nest, the wings came up like this and the two of them started ripping strips of fish and feeding the babies. could not see the babies but could hear them

  4. Yep, the Moms always have to do all the work:) It is really amazing to see how they build those nests in such precarious places, and yet they endure.
