Not quite grotesque as gargoyles tend to be. They are not very popular out here. Or maybe I haven't noticed them on buildings. But, more popular here is a picture of a devilish face hung on buildings that are being constructed, in order to ward off evil eyes.
Too bad we still don't install gargoyles on buildings. I can think of a few politicians and "celebrities" who would serve as perfect models!
