TAKE FORTY NINE e

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

Not the sharpest shot... but then it was chucking down with sleet! The crow was clearly interested in some small critters on this stony shore.

  1. We love seeing all those pretty rocks. The crows drive the dogs crazy here. They line up on the roofs and squawk away. When they fly overhead, Timber and Misty follow them with their eyes. It is very funny to watch them with their noses up in the air and the continual movement of the head along the flight route:)

  2. Speaking of birds: I have a new Animal Planet show I enjoy it is about the Bronx Zoo behind the scenes and their commitment to conservation of animals. Recently they had a segment on a Pink Pigeon. I was not familiar with it. However, its numbers are dwindling in the wild so they trying to help increase the population with a breeding program. Any successful births go back to their native land eventually.
The avian keeper went on to say the pink pigeon is by no means smart...and very poor architects. She says they build a nest with '2 sticks and a prayer'!
