I am replying to your comment about my post today of the cardinals...you are definitely right about the cardinals in that tree not being all male...in fact most of them are female in that shot. They would a bunch swoop over here then fly back to that tree...and I didn't even try to photograph it much cause my little camera does not do well with that type of shot. But at one point I did look and count that many males. It was just so awesome.
I am 64 yrs. old and my mom always fed the birds with whatever she could find. In the winter. And there would be 8-10-12 male cardinals on the feeder and around on the ground below it. But since living here, I seldom see cardinals ganged up like they were the day that photo was taken. I live about 400 miles north of where I grew up.
What a lovely and well tended garden too. I bet you and Father enjoy sitting out their in the warmer weather.
