The only time I really felt the absence of The Fudge was trying to manage decent long-range shots of birdlife with the Hisstix. This was a group of Magpie Geese coming in to land - can you see them??? Close up next week.

The Aussie sky can get glary like the ones in the Bonny Land... and yet they never depress in quite the same way!

'Why is this not in "Shipping by..."' you ask?

I was struck the patterning created by the structure of this motor yacht - one of the whale watching craft at Hervey Bay.

A little series from an event we attended in Port Adelaide, SA... sand sculptures based on The Jungle Book. I took lots of shots, of course, but you'll get only three here. The rest are over at

As we went through Wolli Creek on the train to Wollongong, I was taken by all the hi-rise, creating symmetrical patterns against that Aussie sky.

Last week in the critters post I gave you koala fencing, rather than actual koalas. Today, white-bellied sea eagle nest without the residents. Over the entire week, I only glimpsed them once - and that, too, so far out to sea hunting they just have to remain a blur upon my memory. Impressive home, though, donchya think?

Monday's Critters

My pals in Hervey Bay live on a new estate - one road along it is still rural. Not for long though, will these cattle and egrets be seen, as this section has been slated for the next development.

(Taken from a moving vehicle, so not the sharpest, sorry.)
