TAKE TWENTY EIGHT e

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

The Reluctant Leaver - part 1.

Yes, another little series; this fledgling herring gull ought to have been foraging entirely on its own six months before this was taken - some teenagers just won't go! Here, it is tapping the parent's beak...

  1. I expect that mom longs for an empty nest.

  2. I seen hawk fledglings not. Spend a day jammed in the nest, open beaks, demanding grub. Another day out on a branch, demanding. Then it occurs to them, mom and dad did the fledging. On Their Own! OMG! End of story.

  6. LOL, the teenagers want everything given to them. They do need to learn to help themselves. Great shot. Have a happy day!
