YAM's Originals
I don't claim full credit for this one - I utilised a 'drawing class' within ibisPaint which advocated that old trick of "draw two ovals at angles..." then added broad strokes! What is it though - David??? Maybe a stump-tailed Wren? Or a Warbler of indistinct origin???
It's a bird.
ReplyDeleteWow! This looks fabulous! :-)
ReplyDeleteI have studied this bird very carefully, and I can say without fear of contradiction is is the the Beautiful Om-Warbler (Sonoratus yamenensis), seldom observed but known always to bring joy. Apparently it adapts well to captivity (not that I would recommend it) and can be coaxed to sing Robbie Burns with a hint of an Australian accent.

DeleteOh my word, between us we have discovered a rare species!!! Special indeed &*> Yxx
Hello,
ReplyDeleteWell done, it is a cute bird. Take care, enjoy your day!
This is just so sweet!
ReplyDeleteTake 99% of the credit YAM. You drew what you learned and it is gorgeous. I could have 100 lessons and never do this.
ReplyDeletePurrsonally I cannot draw a straight line with a ruler...my creativity is in my hands but not with a pencil, pen or paint brush

Davids answer has me rolling as does your answer to David's answer. I love it and there is no way I could do this by drawing ovals even with instructions.. I have to say Google Lens is really smart. 4 answers when asked what it is were a pencil drawing of a bird. the 5th one said European Sparrow....

DeleteHAH! I tend to forget about 'lens' and when trying it myself just now, mostly it says 'Robin' (as in the European version), which is not quite it yet, but closer than sparrow. It was a fun exercise, but did take a lot longer than my usual efforts... wait for another bird coming up soon which is a whole lot different (and done in about 15 minutes!) Yxx
This is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done!
