I was not only surprised to find sunflowers so abundant in late September in NE Bonny Land, but also to discover the company they kept... a buff-tailed bumblebee and the smaller honey bee.
It's almost November and we still have marigolds and primula blooming in the garden. There are a few bees around, but they are quite sluggish, especially early in the day. We a very light frost this morning.
