Hari OM It most certainly can do, particularly in the east... over here in the west the rain tends to make sure any such beauty is rather shortlived and we get instead various shades of brown! It should be pointed out that we do not have the extensive ranges of trees that Canada has, so such autumn colour is also limited to where there are any deciduous forests. There is an attempt to bring back such vegetation, much of the highlands having been cleared not just of people, but also of the ancient Caledonian forest... Yxx
I have seen some of those monocultural coniferous forests, aptly called green deserts. A return to the ancient Caledonian forests would be a wonderful step to restoring diversity.
We a few orange azaleas around here too although the deep rose red are more popular.
