When you can't see 'em for real, take a picture of a picture! This gorgeous mural was on the back wall of the Port Adelaide old town hall and is a depiction, I believe, of the Splendid Fairy-wren. Purists might say 'not accurate' - but it was stunning to stand beside, nonetheless.

It' meets my expectation of a wren. The wren, the wren, the king of all birds, St. Stephen's day got caught in the woods. Damn Vikings! Or was it the Irish?
