  3. That scarlet really stands out against the white. I have been trying to figure out the host plant but my knowledge of European flora is not great. Do you know what it is?

      Yes, David, that is Cow Parsley, same family as carrots. A very common wildflower here.

      ...and there was me thinking you'd be the one to ask about the couple involvedin the congress of the Cardinal! Yxx

  9. Use to love these as a kid - we would collect the insects and put them all on one flower head when we were waiting for the school bus! Fun, if that that ecological!
