That scarlet really stands out against the white. I have been trying to figure out the host plant but my knowledge of European flora is not great. Do you know what it is?
Use to love these as a kid - we would collect the insects and put them all on one flower head when we were waiting for the school bus! Fun, if that that ecological!
What a variety of insects up close and purrsonal....if they get in my house I know how to catch them.

DeleteYes, David, that is Cow Parsley, same family as carrots. A very common wildflower here.
