TAKE FORTY FIVE h

Welcome to "A" of the alphabetised month!  If you have not seen or heard of the AtoZ challenge, click the logo on the sidebar to find out more! This blog is not about words, but about pictures telling the story. That said, for this month, there will be a few more than usual typed items and occasionally more than the usual one image per post.

My theme is Australia, which starts the alpha nicely - but this first post also contains an image of my brother, Alec, another "A". (NB - this little series is going to be entirely personal. If you're here looking for the 'tourist-eye-view', sorry mate!) I emigrated in 1989 on a work visa as a systems analyst/programmer (before 'Information Technology' actually became a terminology!)

That is the mighty Hawkesbury River Alec stands beside. About a 40-min train ride north of my home in Asquith and a spot I often frequented.

It behooves me here to include some examples of Aboriginal Art. These were taken in the Adelaide gallery and I wish to honour and thank the artists who granted permission for their works to be displayed and also shared in this manner.

That is the Beedie Lass... the first being a surname of the NE area of Scotland, so a family fishing boat at one point and now a bit of a landmark wreck... Yxx

  4. Nice works of Art. When I was in Australia, last year, one place I wanted to spend a lot of time was in an Aborginal Museum.

  12. Looking forward to your musings on Australia, and this was a fine start. I'm not sure I'll ever make it there, but I would certainly love a chance to see the aboriginal art up close.

  13. I'm looking forward to seeing your posts throughout the A-Z Challenge. I did mine on Australia a few years ago myself. Where did you emigrate from? I am the opposite to you, having grown up in Australia and moved to the US 20 years ago. Love the shots of the Hawkesbury. I've never had the chance to see it up close (just passing over it on the train or car)
