Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and
the downright hilarious in photographing birds.
This was taken at Edinburgh Zoo. A Great Grey Owl (competes with a couple of others for 'largest' in the world). This one was the size of a toddler human!

What a beautiful shot through the fence! Such a gorgeous bird!
ReplyDeleteI love his face and those markings. I have not seen a real one of these, I have seen two different types, but not this one
ReplyDeleteI have seen this bird in the wild several times and it is magnificent.
ReplyDeleteI would dearly love to see one...preferably in the wild, but even like this would be fantastic.
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautifully composed picture.
ReplyDeleteI just finished Helen Macdonald's H is for Hawk. Owls are not hawks, but both are raptors, fascinating birds.
Hello, The Great Grey is a beautiful owl. I would like to see this one in the wild. Wishing you a great day!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully framed.
