Lacking live critters, one has resorted to the modelled variety! A balsa root hosts two birds of indistinct heritage. It was a gift to my father from a neighbour at Christmas.
We haven't seen any live birds around here lately, except for the Canadian geese. Guess the single digit temps have something to do with that:) Very nice carving.

What birds do you guess them to be? Tails up like wrens. I don't recognize the beaks.
