TAKE FOUR f

Monday's Critters

The thing with critters is that they have a habit of chasing after other critters...the human critter is at the top of the predatory pile. Not just for eating, but for "sport". A young blogger I admire recently brought to light a disturbing situation...

  1. Unfortunately it doesn't surprise me at all.

  2. My goodness me...that breaks my heart.
I watch several wildlife shows from Alaska, New England and Texas. The Rangers will track down people who do something like this. Evidently with bullets there are markings that help them.
    I'm so sorry

  4. Oh, Yam. I hope you help to stop even a bit of this revolting behavior. It goes on all over the world.

I did read the other post from the link you provided. It is indeed disgusting.

  8. The whole 'field sports' debate is just so tangled. I fish - and take about 1 in 100 fish for the table - all else is catch and release. I am an odd one out (or so it seems) in Australia.

It's only 'tangled' because of idiots like the ones Findlay tells us about; having grown up 'country' and having a gillie for an uncle, I totally get the purpose of culling and taking for the table. What is worrying is the apparently growing trend of hunting for hunting's sake, some kind of thrill for the individual without concern or benefit for anything or anyone outside that. If everyone acted as you do (and I have to say, overall, I think fishing is the nobler of the country sports and 'catch and release' of birds or hare would be very difficult!) there would be rather less debate... maybe! thanks for dropping by Stewart!
