Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in respect to photographing birds.

Rebuttal.  Milvus Migrans Govinda - the Indian Black Kite variant which is actually a golden brown.  Jan/Feb are the 'frisky' months. This female is protecting herself by resting by an 'armed guard'!  the male had several attempts but then thought better of it.

This was round at Loch Striven oil depot. Barely a week later, there was a great flurry of movement upon the Clyde Estuary (remember we have Faslane just up the creek...) To see an incoming convoy series.... click here!

Monday's Critters
Continuing the reposts focused on my 'angels'; this one of Jade might have done as a SUNday post, but I'll keep it here. Over on Wild YAM bloggy, I am reposting a few memories of Jade, if you are interested (and don't already read there).

"I never found a companion that was as so companionable as solitude."
(Henry David Thoreau)

This vinca was well ahead of the rest of the pack, enjoying 'solitude' with a smile on its face and 'arms' flung wide! I am one who enjoys solitude - the challenge for me in lockdown is having to live with another...

Monday's Critters

Jasper Cat was unquestionably a very handsome lad. He was also very smart, as many cats are. I have had several cats over the years, but I can honestly say, none were of the standard of Jas. He was the heart cat who left me knowing I would never have another, for none could ever equal him.

Monday's Critters

Continuing the archival mining of my 'angel' pets, The J's.

Here, Jade Dog was enjoying our walk, up at Hawkesbury River. The slightly eerie light is caused by bushfire smoke filtering the sun.

It is tempting to say this is Nature's symmetry, but it is actually man-made; managed pine forests are plentiful in Scotland.  Taken with the 'Nik' on auto and B&W mode.
