Monday's Critters
The penultimate of the 'coo' images season... and a very old print, scanned. Last century, and even before OZ, (so let's say 40 years...) I was teaching Sunday School and we had a multi-faith congress on the Isle of Iona.
Down on the beaches, the cattle fed on kelp. Very nourishing stuff! Can you make out the farmer right down the shore?

Well seeing cows on the beach is 100% new to me. They sure do look happy

I see the farmer, like the cows more though. ha ha.. I prefer four footed over two footed most of the time... I must say I have never seen cows on a beach
ReplyDeleteWe are a bit jealous here that the cows got to go on a beach. We don't think we will ever be close enough to visit a beach but Mom tells us it is quite the pleasant experience.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter from all of us!

What a fun shot...and wonderful memory! We have cows that graze near the shore...but I have never seen any feeding on kelp...yet ;-)
ReplyDeleteI never gave a thought to cows eating kelp...what an image though! Who is the farmer?
ReplyDeleteNice picture - kelp is (was?) an import part of life on those islands I think.

Hello, I have seen horses on the beach but not cattle. Great photo. Enjoy your day, have a great new week!
ReplyDeleteI was reading recently about cattle eating seaweed, and of course certain types are beneficial for humans too. I always gobble some down when we visit our local sushi restaurant. When that might happen again is anyone's guess - if they survive being closed for weeks, or months.
ReplyDeleteWhen tome stood still.
ReplyDeleteSweet critters ^_^
