Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.
An adult Black-headed gull and a 'yearling'. (At first, I thought it was behind the times not getting its 'hood' -
but a study of the wonderful GULLS OF THE WORLD {thanks David Gascoigne for bringing it to attention!} taught me this is the juvenile, with its orange/black beak and tawny feathers.)
Will bring a closer look at that next week.
Broken record time...YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE your water photos.

Nice study of the two age categories, YAM, and thanks for linking to my blog.
ReplyDeleteI would have guessed a male and female, but now we know... good info
ReplyDeleteHello, I find gulls hard to id. There are so many species and plumages. Great photo, they are pretty gulls.
