  4. The song of the Blackbird is surpassingly beautiful. The Nightingale gets all the press, but the Blackbird has received short shrift. It is a sound to make the sad joyful, the unkind charitable, the downcast uplifted.

  7. What a pretty bird! I have a pair of blackbirds that nest in a tree in the front garden. I call there Cheeky and Mrs Cheeky because Cheeky will wander around the garden even when I'm out there!
