Karma Chameleon!!
This is the 'common' variety and this particular specimen was around two feet in length. That darkening to match the trunk was happening as I took the photograph. I have seen them in yellow and also orangey-red colouring also. Not many as big as this though.
Taken with the 'Nik' on standard auto everything and lens extended to about 3x optical zoom.
