Gosh. Fifty days of photographic frippery!! A BIG thank you to all visitors and especially to my already loyal followers. It's early days yet, but things are going along nicely and I do hope you are finding things to like.
I am breaking the trend of keeping minimum words for this occasion as I have decided to make a new theme for the mid-week blog and wish to tell you about it.
Welcome to WINGS ON WEDNESDAYS!
Birds of course are critters too, but as a lifelong 'twitcher'/'birder'/amateur ornothologist/Wild YAM (no I'm no amateur at that last bit!) as well as a keen amateur photographer/piccie hound/YAMarazzi, I feel the need to give them a page all of their own. Here in Mumbai there are the ubiquitous crows, koels and Black Kites as well as a variety of colourful and tuneful lovelies.
Photographing them is proving to be challenging/frustrating/downright agitating/immensely rewarding. ...You'll gather, by this multiple choice reporting style, there will be a lot of take your pick/leave it alone/sniggering going on for this particular post day!
You are going to find some wacky/wonderful/wow as well as just plain ridiculous. It is important for me to let you see my process though. This is a real and tiring project. Any photographer with integrity knows that for every fantastic shot, 99 horrible ones came first. The digital age has simply made this a whole lot easier and a good deal less expensive. To start things off, though, let me use something reasonably worthwhile and rather uplifting.
...wait for it!....

Taken with the 'Nik' on sports auto mode. Still not quick enough... Yes, there's going to be lots of sky. K
