Last Thursday. In the last Thursday of each month, a little something different...
Mostly it will be items that, left to themselves, might otherwise have headed to the trash - but something in them structurally has held them back. This is where one can go bongo with the WLPG! The Forth Rail bridge is of course a structural monument of some grace. Taken on the Minolta digi pocket cam. It was a dull old day. Once.

Gracious, can you imagine the state of me when I realised the fixed lens camera was capable of this? New Year's Morning would you believe. Great way to start 2013. You'll be seeing more of these! Taken with the 'Nik' on auto focus at 26x optical zoom. The sky was actually quite light, but the magnification has cut away the atmosphere. I was also up on the terrace ("8th floor") of our residence, which probably helped.
Every Tuesday you are invited to give 'your take' on the featured photo. Submit via the comments box. In 50 words or less explain what you see before you. The pair of trolls were taunting the man to cross the river. The boatman, on the other hand, warned them there were 13 trolls on the other side. "There's a lesson in this somewhere" muttered the man. Taken with the 'Nik' on auto mode.
...anyway, the pups just wouldn't take 'no' for an answer so I had to jump through the cobweb from Giantsville, make a dash for the dung pile, then managed to shake them off at Crud Corner. Take it from me, life has only two colours right now. They are both grey. Taken with the 'Nik' on auto focus at 20x optical zoom. (Don't go near B2 when she's in this mood!) WLPG used to alter a really rather pretty colour version to this B&W - it suited the look in the eyes better. Have bought a monopod since this, as realised the long zooms can lose clarity.
One of those classic smog-smeared sunrises of India. Taken on the Uniden pocket cam and 'tizzied' a wee bit to sharpen and deepen contrast. But only a tad. The 'soft focus' is courtesy of bus movement. Colour by 'dust filter'. [8-}
Each Tuesday you are invited to give me 'your take' on the photo presented. Enter in the comments box in 50 words or less what happened to this window. "Vikram stood on the road beside it, the ground still strewn with the detritus of tsunami. That the village was in the hills above 1000 feet was what concerned him..." Taken with the 'Nik' on standard auto and workshopped on Windows Live Photo Gallery, using B&W with yellow filter and increased contrast.
The Indian squirrel shows lots of similarity to a chipmunk but the way they travel the tree-ways is rather closer to a sugar possum - they act like they've got wings. Maybe it's being up there with all the birds... Or may be Sarah J. Parker has it right - "Squirrels are just rats with more expensive coats". Ookaaayy. Taken with the 'Nik' on auto focus at 12x optical zoom.
Shanti, shanti, shanti. Each Sunday I will seek to bring something Solar to you. This one was taken on the little Uniden pocket cam, from a rattling bus on the way back to Mumbai from Kolwan. Direct to Sol + dusty air = pinkout!
We, too, are but space, air, fire, water, earth. Was this once me in another birth? Taken with the 'Nik' on auto focus. Then B&W option with orange filter in WLPG.
