This is one of my own all-time fave shots; taken with the Nik in 2012 in Maharashtra, India. It is the caterpillar of the Death's-head Hawkmoth.

There was quite some song and dance going on here. A Lesser-black-backed Gull, a Herring Gull and a juvenile of the latter. The LBG seemed to want to feed the young bird, but the true parent was putting up a fight and quite the noise about that. The youngster was just hungry and confused!

(Although rare, there are records of these two species mating, so the possibility is this is actually a family unit!)

Krishna-bhai, senior guardian of the ashram grounds. He seemed ageless as the avatar for whom he was named. He knew the routines and would accompany all the brahmacharis in the early morning up to the temple for chanting, then to the annakshetra for breakfast, then on to Saraswati Nilayam for study. He'd lie listening closely, absorbing all the lessons, over and over for all his years. Three batches at least of students remember him, perhaps four. He'd have been at least 14 when I knew him. On my last visit a couple of years back, he had finally transcended his body.
