TAKE TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY NINE
Due to having to post ahead of schedule as am physically in transit this week, I am not taking up the Thursday Challenge for today - it hasn't been announced at time of posting... It IS "last Thursday" though, when YAM takes liberties with piccies...
This one wasn't good enough for the SUNday post, so simply downed the highlights to bring out the rainbow and added a simple line or two to give depth. Result? Looks more like Egypt than India!!!
Taken with the Uniden.

TAKE TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY SEVEN
The Tuesday Tease
"I said please nicely. Now I am pleading with you - can you hear what I hear...???!!!!"
This is Jade, who was my constant companion for 14.3 years. Did you read about her adventures with her cat-bro' Jasper yet?
If not, go here!
Today (night) as I fly off to Scotland, I look forward to spreading her ashes on a land she never knew, but I am sure she would have relished.
This was taken with the Minolta digicam.

TAKE TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY TWO
This week I may not be able to link up at the Thursday Challenge, as am in last few days of getting ready for Scotland transfer. Still, I wanted to use the keyword for the post. It is ATTRACTIVE... which I am sure is all in the eye of the beholder!! Try this one on for size....
This peacock at City Farm had a peahen to display to and he was doing his utmost. Wish I had been able to record the sound of those feathers being 'thrummed'!!
Taken with the 'Nik' on auto everything but using 'vibrant colour' mode and lens extended to 3x zoom.

TAKE TWO HUNDRED AND SEVENTY FOUR
Wings on
Wednesday -
YAM's
take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in respect to
photographing birds.
This was one of the very first shots I took when trying out the new Nikon L810...the 'Nik'.
Had it on auto function and the lens was stretched to the full 26x optical and 4x digital. A little blurry and overexposed, but considering this black kite was resting on a tree approximately one kilometer distant, I was well pleased!
Thanks to Squirrel Queen for linking up last week... a reminder that I will be putting in the formal linky gain once have relocated to Scotland; but for time being anyone who wishes can do so anyway!!

"Alright, who giraffitied the rock then, eh? Who, who???"
Dug this one out of the Minolta digicam archives - it was taken at Taronga Zoo in Sydney.
(That link will take you to a few better images...)

TAKE TWO HUNDRED AND SIXTY EIGHT
For the past few weeks I have been joining in the Thursday Challenge - was not sure I could keep it up, but so far so good and it is certainly fun. For those who are dropping by from that page - thank you!! Due to my current state of transition between continents, my time is limited so am not able to visit as many of the others as I would like... something I plan to remedy in 2014!
This week's theme is CITY - - hmmmm what have I got?...
Couldn't resist giving you a vision of two cities - first Sydney on a sultry February (late summer) day, with the greasy haze obscuring the North Sydney buildings, Opera house and Bridge. Taken with the Minolta digicam back in 2006!

This young busker was drawing quite a crowd - and so he should; I wasn't quick enough to catch the one-leg act! |

A Bharadwaj (common coucal) from my window at Sandeepany. I love how the black feathers can reflect the light and look blue - it properly explains the word/name, 'krishna'. It's all in the angle, the point of view...
Take with the 'Nik' on auto everything and 8x optical zoom.
