Well, this was an interesting one... Not all that large really, but still with the two tugs. Turns out this is the RFA "Wave Knight"... worth clicking that link!  I had taken several shots, but switching into mono definitely favoured this one.  Do you agree?

MOONday

Really?  Another month down?  Yikes.

Two of the same moon rise in January for you today.

Not super-sharp because they were taken through double-glazing at a disadvantaged angle...and, let's face it, the glass could be cleaner...

Saturday Symmetry

Bright winter sun and a long draw on the lens gave this photo of the tug "Fidra"  and the control house at Leith docks a sharp cut. The Firth of Forth stretches out behind them and yonder dark hills are actually the Kingdom of Fife... nearly three miles away!  The poles giving the symmetry are lamps - well more like spotlights really...

Anyway Thursdays are when it gets a bit strange...

Ocean Terminal is at Leith Docks. The Royal Yacht Brittania (decomissioned) now rests here as a tourist and events pavillion.  Around it an enormous shopping extravaganza has arisen.  Oh well...

Meanwhile, some of us have to really deal with the ocean... or at least some small part of it... as we make our way home.

Aboard the Gourock-Dunoon ferry. When perhaps one ought to have thought better of it...

Wings on Wednesday -
YAM's take on the good, the bad, the ugly and the downright hilarious in photographing birds.

The Father and myself had a fun time trying to find out what this one might be called. He did not recall ever seeing one before and we were quite sure it would be something exotic.

Meet 'The Tufted Duck'.

Yup.  That's all folks....

...the Cumbrae Ferry "Loch Shirra"... nowhere near Cumbrae!  This was a dreadful stormy day and I was waiting for the Gourock-Dunoon ferry myself, when this one chugged by, heading into Greenock.  Just to prove that there can be still and golden moments here on the Clyde, managed to capture this next one of the "Eilidh Anne", one of our local fishing vessels, in a fine winter's sunrise.
